Donate Hair - All Hair Alternatives Studio

A Child's Voice Foundation, directed by Roslyn Yearwood and in partnership with Amalia Ruggiero, are founders of a Canadian program called Angel Hair for Kids. Their mandate is to provide quality wigs to financially disadvantaged Canadian children who have lost their hair as a result of Chemotherapy treatments, Radiation to the Scalp, burn accidents, Alopecia or other medical issues resulting in hair loss. Wigs and Hair Prosthesis helps to restore a child's self-esteem and self-confidence, enabling them to face their world and their peers when self-image is so important especially at this time of their life.

Child's Voice Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission statement is to enhance the physical and emotional needs of sick and disadvantage children across Canada, and All Hair Alternatives is a hair replacement studio that assists women, men and children who have lost their hair due to medical reasons. Our organizations have joined forces and are working together to provide this incredible and much needed program in Canada. A child's illness places an incredible financial stress on a family with limited financial means. To have a wig made for a child can cost a family $1,200.00 to $3,000.00. Angel Hair for Kids will help a child whose parents have little to no financial means to purchase a wig for their daughter or son. We need your support in the form of donated hair and financial donations. We cannot do it alone. Together, we can make a difference.

THE DONATION OF HAIR:
To donate hair to Angel Hair for Kids, please follow these simple guidelines:

     • Hair must be clean and dry
     • Minimum length of cut off hair needs to be not less than 10 inches
     • Hair should not be permed nor heavily coloured (ie hair that has been bleached or
        highlighted cannot be used.)
     • Hair must be in a secure braid or ponytail tied with a very tight elastic band at both ends.
     • Place clean, dry hair in a plastic bag or tissue paper.
